Arenica

Arenica is available in Gansu Watering Hole after completing the second main story line quest, Lorsa Nest Network.

Its word count was decreased from 1,350 to 900 in mid March 2024, with the timer decreasing from 180 to 90 minutes. In addition, its XP and drops were altered, and its battle requirement changed from Steel Dagger to Vine Net.

Arenica is the only source of sacred feathers until deep into the game.

I woke up too early this morning, sometime before the sun dawned, but when I saw it, I was in awe. The Arenica is beautiful to look at, but with the morning light glimmering from the jeweled, every color feathers that make up its wings. I've seen some colored glass before, back in 3PC, but this was so much more. The colors glowed... the bird itself seemed a child of the sun, spiraling in a streak of red to hunt a breakfast of Ylly. Thinking back, even now I seem to have a brighter fire inside me, a stronger confidence.

Historical Lore[]

The Arenica is a sacred bird to the valley people. Legend says, early in the time of the ancients, the world had no color, just form. An artist among the ancients was selected to give color to the world. For this mission, it chose the Arenica as its companion. Underneath the Arenica's wings the artist hid his colored paints, and together, they roamed every corner of the world, painting it as they moved through it. The last thing to be painted was the Arenica's wings. The artist painted its faithful companion with every color possible, and outlined its wings golden, so that all would know the sacred task the Arenica had helped complete. After traveling the entire world the Arenica chose Gansu Watering Hole as its final resting place. A lone watering hole lost somewhere in the middle of the desert, a place where it, and its children could live and rest in peace.
