Carnival was the National Novel Writing Month event for 2018. It ran from October 31st-December 5th.
Event Outline[]
- October 31st: Monvoisin started us off with a global challenge. The Piñata Chest would crack open after the dust warrior community wrote 3 million words, at which point the event would begin.
- November 1st: the piñata was defeated, and the Carnival opened with 4 areas.
- November 9th: The birds of Uurwall arrived! Uurwall Uzgot brought all his birds, which appeared around the Carnival areas
- Also kicked off another global challenge: Defeat 25,000 of the “Birds of Uurwall”, which earned everyone the Carnival feathers wardrobe item
- November 16th: Skuppa wanted to repurpose the carnival tent into a battle arena. Dust warriors had to write 15 million words as a community. At that point, dust warriors could trade their Carnival Tickets for a chance to battle legacy monsters.
- November 18th: The battle arena construction finished. Two new sets of monsters appeared in the Carnival Town: the fools' monsters and the NPCs from the event.
- November 27th: A second wave of monsters appeared in the arena: the colored tentacles and Halloween monsters. A final quest was also unlcoked. The wardrobe collection was also made available.
- December 3rd: The birds of Uurwall challenge was completed. The Carnival Feathers wardrobe item was made available to every dust warrior.
