With twice the firing power of a wood bow the crossbow is the preferred weapon for the deserts open landscapes and long distances. A strong wood body holds the steel firing mechanism and tight rope in place before the bolt is shot. While better crossbows are made in the river towns, the wood body keeps the weight of the bow low, making it a better tool for the harsh desert.
