This page describes how to grab images from the 4theWords site.

This page mentions items with or without variants; this generally means that it is different than the other swatches available. In the case of house items, the wiki only needs one of each variant, not the flipped versions. Generally, we also try to have all house item pictures facing the same direction (when applicable).

If the item you're grabbing images from has no variants (besides being flipped), such as the majority of Mastery Rewards, grabbing the image from the Gallery will be your easiest option. If it's a mastery reward and the same applies, My Masteries is another place you could grab the image from. If it has variants, you're going to have to go through the Wardrobe or My Maps menus to grab all the images of them, as nowhere else displays variants.

After grabbing an image, you can download it and upload it to the wiki yourself here or by hitting the 'edit' button on any given page and dropping files into the provided box. If you are unable to put the image on the wiki directly, you can instead provide the image link to wiki users in the #4-the-wiki channel of the community discord or in this forum thread and we can take it from there.

Gallery[]

This is usually the easiest option for items with only one variant, such as almost all Mastery Rewards other than books. It can be found in your user profile under the gallery tab (Account > Gallery). In this portion of the site, items can be right clicked to 'open in new tab', which will give you the image we need for the wiki.

For more active users, it may be harder to find specific items if buried in the timeline (such as Mastery Rewards, which are only released every handful of months).

Grabbing Images From the Source Code[]

From this point onwards, you're likely going to have to grab images from the site's source code itself, although some browsers (like Firefox) have been reported to still have the ability to right click and open images in new tab from these locations.

Step 1: Right click the image you want and choose "Inspect" or "Inspect Element". It may be hidden under something like "Developer Tools".

Step 2: This will open the page's source code for you to peruse. At this point, you're looking for the link to the image you wish to grab. It may already be highlighted for you as in the image below.

If the link is not visible, you can click the button that looks like a computer mouse icon over a rectangle to make it highlight the source code for whatever part of the page you click on next. Doing so should make the image's link easier to find.

Step 3: Extract the link from the source code or open it in another tab and you've successfully grabbed the image!

My Masteries[]

If you're looking for a mastery reward with only one variant, and cannot locate it easily in your profile's gallery, this is the next easiest option. First, go to Journal > Comendium > My Masteries, search for the monster you want, and click on their entry. In the provided pop-up, click on the 'mastery' tab and right click on the image you need, then follow the instructions for grabbing images from the source code.

Wardrobe[]

If you need to grab images of a wardrobe item with more than one variant, this is the only option. First, go to Hero > Wardrobe and hit the 'edit character' button to enter the wardrobe outfit editor. Here, find and equip the item you need to grab pictures of, then follow the instructions for grabbing images from the source code. Note that the images we need from the wardrobe are the type that come with the gray avatar in the background, not the ones that go on top of your avatar.

If you're having trouble, this is generally easier if you either zoom out with your browser or return to the "equipped" portion of the wardrobe outfit editor, as the site often reverts to mobile view while the source code is open, since it has less space to work with.

My Maps[]

If you need to grab images of a house item with more than one variant, this is the only option. First, go to Hero > My Maps, open one of your maps, and hit "Edit Map". It is very important that you do not have the item placed while grabbing images from it, as placed items provide lower resolution images that are sub-optimal for wiki usage. You can tell that you have the right image if its name includes "icon" in it, such as 'variant_icon_1234_5678.png', vs the incorrect 'variant_1234_5678.png'.

From there, find the item in your inventory, click on it to open the expanded view, and follow the instructions for grabbing images from the source code.
