Lodo can be battled in the Shrine of Ages with the Bracelet of Water. He is a NPC in Riza Rivertown. He becomes your Companion, and can boost your stats.

Ludo is a Raina who is ready to take action against Dust speakers (aka the 7 Moon Clan) and landwalkers (non-Raina beings from Balance). He does not have a lot of trust toward landwalkers, but comes to the conclusion that help now can result in help later. Lodo is also the one to come up with a plan to help the River Goddess at Riza.

He seems to have an artistic side and offers up information about Raina past and present. In the past, statues used hues such as deep water blue and river grass green; presently three other colors have been more common: damp red, bone white, and crystal tears.

Overall, he seems to be most like the Vota Raina, a soldier using a spear made from the bones of a very large animal (most likely a fish), but there are differences enough in what he wears and the staff he carries to give credit that he's deserted the Raina army and struck out on his own to do the most he can to help make things better.

Lore[]

Lodo is one of the Raina living in the Oge-Mai Valley, a Vota willing to talk to Landwalkers in an effort to stem the Dust polluting the river. He full name is Swayisalatolodo, meaning Rock within the River Grass, but he's said that his short name is Lodo. Unlike Suwö, who runs straight into battle, and Azadi, who calls out orders from the outskirts, Lodo tends to watch an opponent and then attack at the most opportune time. He has a stout heart and a much bigger spirit than his size indicates; I have the feeling that he'll play a much larger part in restoring the relationships between Balance and the Raina.

Random Facts[]

Ludo's full name is Swayisalatolodo, and it means "rock within river grass." In addition, it looks as if the Raina identify themselves by where they live along the river, since later on he says he is "Lodo of the Rushing Falls."

Ludo refers to Luko's Inn as "the smelly house," with aligns with Suwö mentioning the smell of cheap Dí and asks if Luko is overcooking his brew again.

Ludo doesn't use the words "I" and "You," but it's unsure if this is a Raina trait or simply the way Lodo speaks.

Relationships[]

Suwö - so far the two of them get along, even if Suwö doesn't agree or wish to go along with the ideas Lodo comes up with.

Memorable Quotes[]

"Water Dust has turned friend against friend, against river, against self."

"May the river always flow swift and taste sweet!"

"Interesting waters. A Raina with landwalker friends is a rare river indeed."

"Flows will converge, and all together will run north. Under the boat are easy currents; no captain will know. When Balance is reached, more Raina will be under the city. They need help. Both here now need help. Flow is unchanging."

"One being safe does not matter. Friends, family, even strangers need to be safe."

"The water tastes of Dust, despair, and more Dust. If there is need, ask the water for Lodo of the Rushing Falls, and the words will be heard."

"This area is ill, feverish for war. Mother is very sick, and the North tribe is very, very angry. All talk is fight talk, and Mother is too weak to intervene."

"Yes, that hope is good. It's best to have light keeping the darkness at bay. For courage, strength, and hope... thanks is given now. If this ends in failure, there will be no other chance to say it."
