The Mining Site was one of three locations for the 2019 NaNoWriMo Meteoroid event. It was the last area to be unlocked, on November 8th.
(Not to be confused with the Mining Site, which is the permanent expedition area after Three Points Crossing. Also not to be confused with the Mining Site (Expedition Edition), which was the Mining Site area during the Meteoroid Expedition event.)

A Miner Problem[] |
|
now called Miner Helmet |
An Explosive Personality![] |
x10 Streak Days
|
(battle item) |
| Sergeant Jenkins challenge me to a ten-day contest. If I can manage to keep calm and carry on in the mines for ten days, he promised me one of his Miner Hat battle items. Then he'll show me how he uses timed explosions to get around the shafts. I want to ask if he ever looks back when they go off, but I think it's better to find a portable healing kit. | ||
Dinti Arts and Crafts[] |
|
|
| The crew needs all the Dinti they can get, which means some of the younger aliens feel bad they can't help out in the mining site (Let me just say now that Rist screaming orders does not count as helping). How did they decide to contribute? They've gotten together to craft beautiful Dinti Bracelets, trading a few of their Dinti for 50! | ||
Here's My Reaction (1/4)[] |
|
Unlock Here's My Reaction (2/4) |
| Rist saw local Dust Warriors trading what they called "Reactions" in their journals and letters. A little jealous that they didn't have their own reactions, Rist decided to make something to wear as a keepsake from their time on this weird planet. Ever the prince, Rist has generously offered a shirt to any who can defeat them five times in battle. | ||
Here's My Reaction (2/4)[] |
|
Unlock Here's My Reaction (3/4) |
| Gwynos was overheard complaining about it being too cold in the mines, which got Rist thinking on how they could help. I stood by, watching as they ordered her to stand still for measuring, but it wasn't a surprise to see that she didn't listen. Eventually, we worked out a successful plan where I had to distract her with knowledge. | ||
Here's My Reaction (3/4)[] |
|
Unlock Here's My Reaction (4/4) |
| If anyone was going to be cold, it was going to be Toko with wet tears all over their suit. This time Rist didn't bother trying to find out sizes. They just sighed and made a special shirt just for them. My role in this mess is getting Toko to stop crying long enough for them to put it on. | ||
Here's My Reaction (4/4)[] |
|
|
| Last, but not at all least, came Nium. Already nice and warm with that google-eyed beanie on, they've demanded their own shirt as well since, in their words, "It's new!" I think I saw Rist roll their eyes, but they did go and fetch the material. I think they're going to be an even better leader when they finish growing up. | ||
Love Rocks 'n' Roll[] |
x2 Ipo x2 Rhan x2 Erbor x2 Oxie x2 Kolbs x2 Krang |
(Wardrobe) |
| Little work is being done in the mines since rock creatures have overrun the place. Gwynos got creative and crafted tiny Stone Brows from the rock debris. She's a smart young one and is only giving them to Dust Warriors who promise to help. The price is similar to what the Elders asked for the shield, but who can resist her? | ||
Robot Fight Club[] |
|
(battle item) |
| Having powered up all the robots, I've been told to keep them active through battles or they'll power down again. This is a great chance to practice my fighting skills while helping the crew at the same time. Besides, Ferenti said I could have one of its replacements torsos to use in future battles if I can complete the challenge. | ||
Seeing the Unseen[] |
|
|
| Deep in the darker, creepier parts of the mine, I decided to investigate who, or what, the Fins kept singing to. I put on the miner hat I usually kept in my wardrobe, and then crept down, just to put my mind at rest that there was nothing sneaking around. A flicker of light revealed what was hidden below! | ||
We Will Rock You![] |
|
|
| I need to defeat the Fins let loose in the mines. Arren decided to reprogram all of them to blast different genres of music, and I'm starting to get a bit of a headache. It's country & crunkcore mashed with chiptune, with danger music added to it, then a final bit of folk metal. How did they find all of this? | ||
Monsters[]
Tactics[]
Don't forget to also check the Spaceship and Impact Crater to maximize double-counting as the event progresses! (And if you have space in your questbook, keep picking up the global repeatable quests, of course.)
As always, collection quests like Dinti Arts and Crafts can be picked up as you are have the materials ready at hand.
An Explosive Personality! starts counting streak days when picked up (including current day if you are already streaking).
Love Rocks 'n' Roll is a good quest to pick up and complete while you farm Dinti.
A Miner Miracle was specifically mentioned in the news article about the opening of the mining site. This was because the reward is required in order to gain access to and complete the quest Seeing the Unseen.
