Nuig

Nuig is a creature available in the Floating City of Balance after the first main quest: Help From A Master. It requires a Water Mask, which is removed from the inventory.

It was a part of the River Festival.

Its word count was decreased from 850 to 500 in mid May 2024, with the timer decreasing from 90 to 30 minutes. In addition, its XP and drops were altered.

Lore[]

Swimming with the river currents, I was joined by a patch of Nuig. I've already seen some, or to be more specific, their luminescent Strings, when I was in town. It floated by, using a type of "push me-push you" action to change directions. I couldn't see what they were eating, and part of me wonders... could the Dust be making them glow? Like the eyes of the infected Villagers? And how the Red Witch was? One of them pushed toward me as I was thinking, attaching to my arm. Both heads just watched me, nuzzling against my billowing clothes.

During the River Festival, Nuig also dropped Hunter Tokens and River Festival Tokens.

Before mid May 2024, Nuig dropped River Stone, River Grass, River Water, Algae, and Nuig String, in addition to 80 XP.

If you completed "No Strings Attached" during the River Festival, it will not appear in the Underwater Foundations.
