Again, do it: ability to craft Stempos is worth it, IMHO. If you're wondering what Hardwood is, you probably haven't run over to Riza yet (and you might need to go fight a few Riza battles to get enough), but that's fine. Go play around in the Riza quests and come on back.
Stone can be crafted in Three Points Crossing at Blacksmith Barliar. Stone is also dropped byRulo (550 words for 1 stone) in Three Points Crossing and Gansu, and by Rosarin (500 words for 0-1 stone) in the Impact Crater.

Sandstone can be crafted in Three Points Crossing at Blacksmith Barliar. It can also be found in Golden Chest in Three Points Crossing (1 sandstone inside).

Local artisans and metal workers need help rebuilding their oven. Once built they'll be able to not only sustains themselves with their own repairs and construction, but will be able to start crafting the time bending Stempo once again.
