So I've proven myself against Wignows, which means Tesven wants me to fight a Nitana next. On the plus side, Tesven said I didn't have to fight it barehanded. I can equip items to give me stronger attack, or a better defense, and that will help. As for finding good items, I've got to ask myself one question. Do I feel lucky?
