Yantao is a creature available in Gansu Watering Hole and the Ruins.
It first appeared during the 2019 Desert Expedition event.
Its word count was decreased from 650 to 300 in mid March 2024, with the timer decreasing from 60 to 20 minutes. In addition, its XP and drops were altered.
Lore[]
Inside the nursery, along with dozens of saplings and Abba seeds, I spied little creatures running back and forth with pails of water. They seem intelligent, judging by their eyes, and quicker than a Pester when jumping around. Something I remembered from the Great Library came back to me. The Yantao is a being made of magic and all the elements. An accident brought the first one to life, and they seem to have an affinity to the nature surrounding them. Entering into a contract with them should never be attempted by anyone lesser than an Elder Merchant or Mage.

Before mid March 2024, Yantao dropped Raw Steel, Fur, Wood and Coins, in addition to 60 XP.
During the Desert Expedition, Yantao also dropped Desert Expedition Tokens and did not drop Coins or Raw Steel.
