Ylly is a creature found in the Gansu Watering Hole. It is an Illi variant.
Its word count was decreased from 720 to 400 in mid March 2024, with the timer decreasing from 90 to 25 minutes. In addition, its XP and drops were altered.
Lore[]
New Lore[]
Watching a Ylly hunt is amazing (and this is from someone who liked watching the Illi in Mama Tree). When moving or stalking prey, the Ylly collapse all of their heads to better blend in with the brown sand and rocks. Then they'll slither toward their target, attacking only when their prey is right in front of them. Then it's heads will burst out in every direction, weaving a quiet rhythm as eyes lock onto the prey, who slowly drift into a dream. I've heard they've even eaten adult Grults (though the one I saw liked to snack on Sparfly)!
Historical Lore[]
Closely related to the Illi, the Ylly are Mama Tree spirit scouts that have made it far out into the desert. The water available at Gansu allow them to survive in the harsh conditions, and so they have remained there for years, slowly adapting to life in the unforgiving desert. When moving or stalking a prey the Ylly collapse all of their heads, hiding the green eyes, and blending in with the brown sand and rocks. With the ability to dig a few feet into the sand the Ylly will slither toward their target and will only attack when their prey is right in front of them. Then it's heads will burst out in every direction, slithering to a rhythm as the eyes lock into the prey. As the rattle drowns out any background noise, the eyes begin to mesmerize the prey, slowly it drifts into a mindless dream. The Ylly have been known to eat prey as large as a full grown Grult.
